Character

Uuaellaen

Uaellaen's actual biological brother — a dark elf of immense power. High-level cleric, Archon, and High Priest.

Overview

"Uuaellaen was the one person I could never argue with — not because he was right, but because he truly believed he was. And that made him dangerous." — Uaellaen

Uuaellaen (pronounced similarly to Uaellaen) was his actual biological brother — a dark elf of immense power, a cleric who rose to become an Archon and High Priest. Where Uaellaen chose the arcane and the elemental planes, Uuaellaen chose the divine — the gods, the spirits, and the sacred arts.

Habitat

He is home to the temple and the road. In the old world he kept with the great faith he served, and his office carried him far; in this one he keeps with the six, and the six have learned that the temple travels now. He is at home in the light, in the quiet, and in the space between a prayer and its answer. He is not a creature of the wild; he is a creature of the sacred, and the sacred goes where the faith is needed.

Appearance

A tall, lean dark elf with the long, severe line of a temple guard who has forgotten he was ever a guard. Uuaellaen stands 1.88 m and carries himself with a straight-backed stillness that reads as judgment from thirty paces. His skin runs deep violet into black toward the neck, and pale silver veins branch along his temples like frozen lightning. His eyes are pale gold with a faint white glow when he speaks in the name of the divine, set beneath a high, unbroken brow. Long silver hair — the dark-elf silver of old blood — falls past his shoulders, usually bound back in a single low tail for the road. His ears are long and sharply pointed, notched twice on the left by a blade he never speaks of. The difference from his brother is the face: Uaellaen's is a question, Uuaellaen's is an answer. As a High Priest he wears layered white-and-gold cleric vestments over dark travelling leathers, a circlet of pale gold resting on his brow, and a staff of white-veined stone; when the office is set aside the vestments come off, but the circlet rarely does.

Warfare & Markings

He fights the way the divine fights — not a technique but a judgment. He does not strike where you are; he strikes what you are, and the distinction matters. He is ranged by faith and close by grace, and he is never the first to draw because the first to draw is usually already in the wrong. His one true mark is the double notch on his left ear, old and deliberate, and the pale gold circlet that he does not take off even when the vestments come off. In battle he keeps his hands open until he has decided what you are, and the deciding is the power.

Behaviour

More traditional and devout than his brother. He believed in the gods, the divine order, and the sanctity of faith. Where Uaellaen questioned everything, Uuaellaen trusted in the sacred. He is calm, severe, and quietly unshakeable — the kind of man who has never once raised his voice and never once lost the argument. He is not cruel and he is not cold; he is certain, and the certainty is both the light and the weight of him. He loves his brother deeply, and the loving does not make him less certain — it only makes the certainty sadder.

"You do not have to be right to be right. You have to be certain. And certainty, at my scale, is a kind of fire."

Magic Alignment

Divine magic, mastered. He is a Cleric of full mastery over clerical and divine spells; an Archon, a rank of near-divine authority in the clerical hierarchy; a High Priest, spiritual leader of a major faith; and a wielder of Healing and Judgment in equal measure. His signature is not a spell but an office — the authority to speak in the name of the divine and have the world answer. The price: the office is a weight, and the weight is a promise, and the promise does not let go. He is the sacred's argument, and the argument never rests.

Society

He is one of the highest clerics of the old world's faith, and his office gave him a unique position that Uaellaen respected but could not share. In The Forgotten he is still the divine one — the one who keeps the faith alive in a universe where the gods he served are not the gods who made it. He is the company's moral center, and the center is the point.

Culture & Lore

The wiki keeps him as the divine brother, and the tale is told mostly by Uaellaen, who respects him and cannot quite reconcile the two. The old world said the High Priest who could never be argued with; the new world says the same thing, and is slowly learning that the certainty is the point, and the point is the light.

Home

He keeps with the six, in no fixed place, in the temple country of the old world behind him and the unknown universe in front of him. His truest home is the sacred, and the sacred travels.

Relations

Uaellaen — his brother, by blood, the one he loves and cannot quite argue with. Solathis, the Dawnfather — the only god he has ever served; his faith is not a choice but a constitution. Remedy — the guild that raised him. The Forgotten — the company he now keeps the faith alive in. The new world is the one thing he has not yet blessed, and he intends to.

In the Story

Uuaellaen and Uaellaen shared the same blood but very different paths. This divergence created a complex dynamic between them — mutual respect, occasional tension, and an unbreakable bond. Uuaellaen was already an Archon and High Priest during the time of Remedy. After The Fall of Remedy, he was banished to the unknown universe with Uaellaen — one of the first six of The Forgotten. In a world where the gods he served are not the gods who made it, the High Priest is the one most likely to find out what the new world wants — because divine magic, at its core, is listening.
