Historical Event

The Fall of Remedy

The quiet, melancholic end of Remedy's golden age. Not a battle, not a betrayal - the old guard simply grew tired, and the guild was not enough people to survive. Uaellaen does not talk about it.

What Happened

The Fall of Remedy is the event that ended the guild's golden age. Not a battle, not a betrayal — a quiet decline: after saving the world countless times, the old guard grew old and tired and retired, one by one, until there were not enough people left to run raids and the guild had to be disbanded. It is the single most important event in the backstory — and the one Uaellaen will not discuss.

What Is Known

  • It happened after the Golden Age.
  • It was a quiet decline, not a defeat. Remedy did not lose a war; after saving the world countless times, it was time that took it.
  • The elites grew old and tired, and retired, one by one — the old guard leaving until the guild was not enough people.
  • When the old guard was gone, there were not enough left to run raids, and the guild was disbanded.
  • It led to Uaellaen's departure from the guild and scattered what was left of Remedy's members.
  • It is the event that made the old world feel, to Uaellaen, like a place that had already ended.

What Is Not Known

  • Why the Nameless God did not answer while the guild died
  • What was lost besides the guild
  • Whether Uaellaen's departure was a choice or a consequence

"You want to know what happened in the Fall? I will tell you what I know. I know that after, I was not the same person I was before. I know that the guild was not the same guild. I know that some things do not come back. That is all I will say. That is all I have." — Uaellaen

In the Story

The Fall of Remedy is the wound the entire backstory is built around. It is the reason Uaellaen left. It is the reason he built The Forgotten. It is the question the current story will eventually have to answer — if Uaellaen decides to let it be answered.

"The Fall is not a battle. The Fall is a door closing. And I was on the wrong side of it." — Uaellaen
