Tigole was the leader of Legacy of Steel, the rival guild of Remedy — and Uaellaen's mentor in the icy tundras. He was a halfling rogue of exceptional skill and wisdom, and he had the rarer quality of seeing potential in the enemy.
Habitat
He is a creature of the ice and the road. He keeps with Legacy of Steel in its deep cold quarters, and he has spent as much time in the icy tundras as in any hall — it is in the snow he does his best thinking, and it is in the snow he met the dark elf who would become his most famous student. He is at home anywhere there is a door, a gap, or a way out, and he is at his most himself somewhere cold, clean, and quietly dangerous.
Appearance
Three feet of halfling, all lean and quick, in boots that are always clean and always pointed at something. Tigole stands 91 cm — a halfling rogue's height — and carries it like a weapon: low, light, and a half-step ahead of wherever you think he is. His coat is thick brown, short and sturdy, worn soft and broken in at the elbows, and it is the first thing you notice after the boots. The boots are the mark: thick, worn, always clean, and always pointed at something — a door, a gap, a way out — even when he is standing still talking to you. His skin is a plain halfling brown, and his eyes are pale amber, the pale of the half-light, and they miss nothing. His hair is brown and short, his ears small, and he moves through a room the way water moves through a crack — you notice it only when you are already wet. His distinguishing mark is the two knives: one at each hip, short and old and well-loved, the only things about him that are not brown. Elders of his kind go gray and slower, their boots going quiet; Tigole is mid-life — the brown is still warm, the eyes still pale and fast. He wears the brown coat over dark leathers, the gray scarf, the two knives, and the clean boots, always.

He fights low, fast, and from an angle you did not think to check. He is not the loudest blade in the room; he is the one you will find behind you. His one true mark is the two knives, short and old and well-loved — one at each hip, the only things about him that are not brown, and the only things he has ever sharpened for himself. He wears the clean boots and the gray scarf, and in the new world he has not added a single scar he would not have taken for the person standing next to him.
Behaviour
Stern but fair, strict but kind. He was a mentor in the truest sense — someone who demanded excellence but also cared about those he taught. He led Legacy of Steel with authority and respect, but more importantly, he had the rare quality of seeing potential in others — even in the enemy. He is not soft; he is precise about who he is kind to, and he is kind to more people than he should be.

Tigole met Uaellaen in the icy tundras of their world — the young dark elf alone, cold, and struggling — and saw not a threat, but a student. Despite their guilds being rivals, he took him under his wing and taught him about the world. He remained leader of Legacy of Steel until the events that changed Remedy, and his relationship with Uaellaen survived the guild rivalry — a testament to the strength of their bond.
