What It Does
A tear in the air, drawn and held — the distance where the other man is a rumor, and the rumor is the one who is about to find out the shape of the tear. It is the air school's answer to the dark school's hide: the tear is the one who is seen, and the seen is the one who is not the door.
The Cost
Circle 4 · Air · Exchange: reagent (silver, named) — casting time two rounds. On the ladder in The Veil, the reagent rung is the price, and the meter pays the budget while the exchange pays the spell.
The Failure
The silver is named wrong — the reagent is the forge's, not the one the spell wants — and the tear is the one who is seen, and the one who is seen is the one who was already behind the line.
In Stories
The master's air spell; the one the camp casts when the distance is the argument and the shape is the one who has to be seen.
The door's scale anchor is Galeforce — the dragon casts it without thinking, which is how a reader learns the shape of the thing.
