What It Does
A breath, drawn and let go — the air carries the sound, the smell, the shape of the moment, and the carrying is the whole argument. It is the cantrip of the school: the air does not hold a shape, so the air takes one, and the one it takes is the one the camp has to listen for.
The Cost
Circle 1 · Air · Exchange: gesture — casting time one beat. On the ladder in The Veil, the gesture rung is the price, and the meter pays the budget while the exchange pays the spell.
The Failure
The whisper carries the sound a beat too far, and the air keeps the tension — the whisper is the one who is heard, and the one who hears it is the one who was not meant to hear it.
In Stories
The camp's first air spell; the one a new arrival casts when the distance is the argument and the sound is the one who has to travel.
The door's scale anchor is Galeforce — the dragon casts it without thinking, which is how a reader learns the shape of the thing.
