Uuaellaen's Dawn-Censer

Uuaellaen's Dawn-Censer — master, [[Uuaellaen]].

What It Is

A censer of named silver, the dawn rite in the metal — the smoke is the silence, the silence is the oath, and the oath is the one the god answers. The censer is the door made solid: the ninth door, the one defined by the oath, not the god.

The Making

Made by the dark-elf alchemists and the anvil-singers, crossed — the silver took the shape at the anvil, and the rite took the silence at the dawn. The censer is the answer to the question the High Priest keeps: the door is defined by the oath, and the oath is the one under silence, at dawn.

Tier: master · Damage/Role: — (divine focus) · Held by: Uuaellaen

On the ladder in The Maker's Hand, this is a master — the tier it is, and the tier is the one the maker owes.

In Stories

The censer is the one the story keeps open: which god answers is a question the reader meets before the reader knows the name. When the censer is lit, the silence is kept, and the keeping is the one the reader has to witness — the rite is in The Dawn Rite, and the rite is the one the camp does not watch twice.
