What It Does
A sphere of pressurized water, held in the hand and let go where the hand says — the pressure is the whole argument, and the sphere does not cut, and the sphere does not flow, and the sphere is the one who is still standing. It is the water school's answer to the earth door's weight.
The Cost
Circle 4 · Water · Exchange: reagent (silver, named) — casting time two rounds. The Exchange is the reagent (silver rung on the ladder in The Veil: the spell costs exactly as much as the spell is, and the meter pays the budget, not the cost.
The Failure
The silver is named wrong — the reagent is the forge's, not the one the spell wants — and the sphere is the one who is still standing, and the one it is still standing on is the one who is already drowned.
In Stories
The master's water spell; the one the camp casts when the pressure is the argument and the standing is the one who has to lose.
The door's scale anchor is Tidecaller, who casts it the way a hand casts a shadow — which is how a reader knows the shape of the thing, because the dragon does not think about it.
