The Remembered
The masterwork blade is a story event, and the story is the one where the blade is the one who is still standing. There are a dozen in the world, and most of them are already remembered — the anvil-singers' plate that moves, the dragons' own making, the blade that has been stood against and is still here.
The masterwork blade is not a weapon you buy. The masterwork blade is a weapon you are given, or a weapon you make, or a weapon that is already dead and you are holding it. The maker's name is on the fuller, and the name is the promise, and the promise is the thing that moves — which is the whole point, and the whole reason the masterwork blade is the weapon of the man who has decided the argument is over before it has started.
In the Hand
The masterwork blade is the arm band's answer to everything: the gap, the parry, the weight, the distance — the blade is the one who is still standing. It is the answer to the flail, the answer to the warhammer, and the question the world asks: what if the blade is the argument, and the argument is the one who is still standing?
